Have a view at which games were bought by the Club during the Essen Fair.

Essen 2022 is now over and a lot of new games were presented.

The club has sent his best emissaries to the fair. They came back exhausted but with those wonderful games : 

– 8Bit Box : Double Rumble :  An expansion for the 8Bit Box simulation kit, reminiscent of fighting arcade games of old. Players need to confront the bad guys facing them in order to defeat the boss at the final stage of the game.

– Almanac : The Dragon Road : No two journeys to Dragon City are the same in this worker placement adventure. Your caravan is ready, the wagons are packed. The path ahead is fraught with peril, but such is the price for unimaginable fortune. This first step is one of many along the Dragon Road, hard as it may be. Adventure is just a page turn away.

– Challengers : Capture the flag and hold onto it to win the tournament! An interactive deck-management game for 1-8 players. With the tournament gameplay style, you meet another opponent every round.

– Coral : Grow a coral reef together, but keep the best spots for yourself!

– Crossing Oceans : Revive the golden era of ocean liners! Build yourself a thriving merchant fleet, and guide it to economic prosperity. Acquire the most modern steamships on the market and take over the precious ports from your rivals.

– Curse of the Dark : Investigate the mystery of a cursed castle. Escape the creature that dwells within. In the remote mountain village of Mordengraf, people are disappearing. Investigating reports of a ‘creature’ stalking the area, you venture into Castle Mordengraf, the Gothic castle overshadowing the village.

– Die Wandelnden Türme : Trap wizards under towers to get yours to the raven castle first.

– Dune : Imperium – Rise of Ix : Dreadnoughts, Ixian technology & new leaders expand the award-winning Dune: Imperium.

– Dreamscape : In the dreamworld, collect dreamshards to terraform the perfect dreamscape. A unique “dream building” game. Incarnate a dreamer collecting dreamshards in mysterious locations such as the lair of the Clockwork Golem.

– Fairy Prank : A hide and seek game that require a pair of good ears! Taking the role of the little fairy, one player will remove items from the treasure box and then the other players each shake the box and guess what is missing by listening to the sounds.

– Feed the Kraken : Social deduction – Loyal sailors, ruthless pirates, crazy cultists and… The Kraken! A hidden role deduction game, with three asymmetric factions. All players may be sitting in the same boat, but they want to navigate in different directions!

– Findorff : Build up Findorff by raising the main structures and rail tracks.

– Furnace : 19th century capitalists manipulate the market and manage their industrial empires.

– Genotype : A Mendelian Genetics Game : Grab a trowel and breed pea plants on your way to become a master geneticist.

– Gigawatt : A game about the energy transition. Europe, end of 20th century. Our economy runs entirely on fossil gas and coal-fired power plants. Climate change is a fact. Which region will have sustainable (non-fossil) electricity production first and wins the game?

– Heat : Pedal to the Metal : Manage your race car’s speed to keep from overheating. Based on simple and intuitive hand management, players are put in the driver’s seat of intense car races, jockeying for position to cross the finish line first, while managing their car’s speed if they don’t want to overheat.

– Infernal Wagon : Escape the mine together in less than 7 minutes! An intensely fun cooperative game in which players must work together to create a path to the exit… before time runs out! But be careful: each card played has a high chance of triggering devastating effects!

– Keydom’s Dragons : Recover the stolen treasures and gain renown throughout Keydom. Dragons have plundered the land of Keydom for its treasures, which they are now hoarding in the network of caves around Keytown.

– Living Forest : Use the powers of your animal guardians to protect the living forest. Play as a nature spirit who will try to save the forest and its sacred tree from the flames of Onibi. But you are not alone in your mission as the animal guardians have come together to lend a hand around the Circle of Spirits where you progress.

– Mosaic : A Story of Civilization : A card-drafting, engine-building civilization game. An action selection game. On your turn, you will perform one of seven actions and acquire components.

– Precognition : Use your powers of Precognition to save what’s left of humanity. You must truly see the future to win the game. That comes from understanding a new card mechanism: the Dual Select System.

– Quest : In Quest, all will show their true colors as Good and Evil struggle for the future of civilization. Hidden amongst King Arthur’s loyal servants are Mordred’s unscrupulous minions. These forces of Evil are few in number, but if they go unknown, they can sabotage Arthur’s great quests.

– Terra Nova : Control one of ten asymmetric factions in a streamlined version of Terra Mystica.

– The Animals of Baker Street : Lead the investigation of Baker Street with Toby’s animal crew! In this narrative game, play as four different animals, just as clever as they are witty, who encounter mysterious situations. Meet characters, gain objects, collect information, and piece them together to unravel the mystery!

– Tiletum : Use dice for resources and actions to gain riches in the Renaissance. Take on the roles of rich merchants traveling throughout Europe, from Flanders to Venice, during the Golden Age of the Renaissance.

– Tribes of the Wind : In a post-apocalyptic world, the tribes of the wind are going to rebuild the world on the polluted ruins from the past. Players will have to plant forests, build new villages and temples, and decontaminate surrounding areas. Use the back of your opponent cards to play your actions in the best possible way.

– Tulip Bubble : Speculate on the price of tulips before the bubble bursts! Players buy and sell on a fluctuating market, trying to earn the most guilders.

For our kid section :

– 1,2,3…. Glisse! : It’s hot! All the animals of the jungle are meeting at the lake… But Turtle is late, as usual. How can he join his friends as soon as possible? Slide down the river! With a flick, the players propel the turtle into the lake, then flip over animal tiles to advance on their personal board. Who will be the first to find all their animals?

– Dodos Riding Dinos : Race in different tracks using projectiles vs your foes to test your dexterity skills.

– Escape from the Aquarium : The trip to the aquarium was everything you had imagined it would be … until suddenly, it all goes wrong! With just one drop of the magical waters, you’re accidentally transformed into a fish! The only way to break the spell and escape is with a mysterious potion, and the secret ingredients can only be uncovered by solving the puzzles hidden around the aquarium.
