Steve Jackson Games has several upcoming releases planned for June, amongst them:

In Castellan, two players work together to build a castle. By linking finely-detailed wall and tower pieces together, you can form courtyards. The player who finishes a courtyard will claim it with a Keep. Your cards determine what pieces you get each turn but you decide where to put them. If you’re clever, the pieces played by your opponent can end up scoring for you! If you combine red/blue and green/yellow Castellan sets, you can play with three or four players.

Calliope Games is a publisher of fun accessible board games for the entire family and this time they’ve outdone themselves with their  newest title “Roll For It!”.  Created to be easy to learn, it offers the perfect mix of luck and skill; making it accessible for children, yet  challenging enough to keep your favorite Geek entertained. Fans can help bring Roll For It! to retailers’ shelves this August by supporting Calliope Games in their Kickstarter campaign.

Stronghold will release also in June a new game with a Viking flavour.

In the oldest poem of Norse Mythology, the Völuspá tells the story of the endless struggle of powerful gods, dangerous creatures, and forgotten races. Which beings will dominate each other? Will the Valkyries overtake Thor? Will Odin survive the challenge of the trickster, Loki? Every time the story unfolds differently, a new force rises in dominance.

In Völuspá, the players play tiles with twelve different characters and creatures of Norse Mythology and use the power of these tiles to block, capture or intimidate in order to dominate other tiles and score points. The player who scores the most points by dominating other tiles wins the game.

Völuspá includes the expansion module “Saga of Edda,” which offers even more strategic opportunities!

Fantasy Flight Games has releases and announcements for several of their products, such as:

• an upcoming expansion to Sid Meier’s Civilization: The Board Game entitled Wisdom and Warfare.  This expansion provides new relics, new culture cards, a new city action, along with more surprises. True to the Warfare element of its name, optional replacement unit cards bring a new level of battlefield tactics. Units now have both Strength and Health values, which allows for even deeper strategic decision-making.
• upcoming deluxe expansion to  Netrunner LCG named Creation and Control.
• The next wave of X-Wing Miniatures ships will include the TIE Bomber, B-Wing, Lambda-class Shuttle, and the Moldy Crow(HWK-290) (an EU ship from Dark Forces).
